Alpaka Kauf

FOR SALE

As a result of recent developments, alpacas are very much in demand. The price is determined by breeding status, fibre properties, age, sex, and success in shows.

Before buying alpacas, it is important to decide for certain whether you intend to keep the animals as a hobby or to start a breeding programme. The selection of animals for sale and the constellation of a group will vary depending on either of these requirements. Our huacayas are always an asset, no matter whether they are kept to provide wool, to help maintain the countryside, or to serve as faithful companions. However, certain rules must be observed when it comes to the humane husbandry of these herd animals. We would be pleased to offer advice and to share our experience in order to help you to establish your herd.

Alpacas are usually kept for their soft, luxurious fleece, which stands out for its finesse, lightness and durability, as well as its excellent thermoregulating properties and silky shine. Each animal produces between 3 and 6 kg of fibre every year. This material can be used to create a variety of products, from yarn and clothing to blankets and tapestries.

Alpacas are extremely ecological and adapt well to the environment. They are compact, intelligent and friendly. Furthermore, they require only small amounts of water and food: their daily consumption is only around 25% of that of cattle or horses. Alpacas are members of the order Artiodactyla (‘even-toed’) and the suborder Tylopoda (‘swollen foot’). The soft pads on their feet cause no damage as they walk, leaving the ground intact. They nibble the grass rather than tearing it from the ground, meaning that the turf is well maintained.

AlpaSuri alpacas are of exceptional quality. We set the highest standards in our breeding programme, integrating the findings of our international research and our many years of expertise in animal husbandry. We also adhere to exacting standards in the area of training, attaching great importance to a careful approach and sufficient time.
